8月19日に戻し堆肥と生ごみを1:1(体積比)で混合し、エアレーションパイプを差し込んだ堆肥の山を崩した。上下にパイプがある部分は好気性高温菌の放線菌が繁殖しており、堆肥化が進んでいた。この方法で堆肥化ができることは解ったが、堆肥の山を崩す時にラウンドローダーを使うとパイプを破損してしまう。
We broke the pile of compost that mixed garbage and return compost (1:1 volume ratio) with aeration pipe on August 19th . Aerobic thermophilic bacterium has been breeding at the place of pipes up and down, composting had progressed and you can see actinomycetes.Composting can be in this way, but the pipes were damaged when the round loader break the compost pile.
今回は堆肥化施設で働いている従業員に堆肥化について説明する機会も作ってもらった。堆肥内部が酸素不足になっている現状と改善策を説明した。
I had explained about composting to employees who are working in the composting facility. The current situation where internal compost is in the lack of oxygen.
今回提案した方法は好気状態を保つために一度に堆肥の山を積み込まずに小分けして25cmづつ、5日ごとに積込む。新しい堆肥を上に積み込んだ時には下の層が高温になっており、水分の蒸発を促し、かつ堆肥化速度も上がるはずだ。
写真の左がパイプあり、右がパイプなし。パイプがある方が堆肥化に良いのは解っているが、コストと手間を考えるとパイプなしで堆肥化がどこまで進むか実験してみることにした。
残る問題は、雨がかからない堆肥化スペースの確保だ。市の説明では増築部分の屋根が今年中に建設されるそうだ。
I proposed new method which is loading mixed garbage and return compost (1:1 volume ratio) 25cm depth at one time, and loading it every five days in order to maintain the aerobic condition. The under layer compost get hot when a new compost is loaded, composting speed should go up and facilitate the evaporation of moisture.
The left photo shows compost pile with pipes, right photo shows without the pipe. We have known composting with aeration pipe is good for composting, but decided to try to experiment composting without pipe to cut cost and labor.
The remaining problem is expanding composting space which is keeping rain out. The roof of the extension part will be built this year in the description of Kaduwela City .
