We set the isolation cage to examine predation amount of sea lettuce by batillariidae.
At first, the isolation cage is carried by the balloon tire drawn cart.
All batillariidaes are picked up in space of examining position and counted. This was hard work. Next time, we should bring hoe and colander to collect and wash batillariidaes in water.
There are 1380 pieces of batillariidaes, 757g in the 900mm × 1800mm.
The assembled the isolation cage and fixed to pile.
The original density batillariidaes are put in one side cage.
2kg of sea lettuce is put in the both cage which one is not batillariidaes for control.
All we have to do now only pray for the success of the experiment.

It is four years since I started working on the problem (outbreaks of sea lettuce) Green Tide of Takasago Seaside Park. Green Tide just looking at the photos below of the next four years ago.
There is also an effect that is composting sea lettuce by volunteers, but predation of sea lettuce by Batillariidae is not forgot. Density of Batillariidae on shoal is great. This year, I want to examine the density and the amount of predation.
However, since the sea lettuce in sea water can not be prey Batillariidae, sea lettuce is accumulated in the deep part.]]>狸の住所 The address of raccoon dog familyhttp://ecoism.exblog.jp/22152022/2014-06-28T12:17:00+09:002014-07-02T07:51:26+09:002014-06-28T12:17:47+09:00ecoism-toshi生物
The address and family structure of the raccoon dog were found. Their names are kept secret for privacy protection. The address is 679-3, Uozumi-cho Nishioka, Akashi-shi. Earthen pipe in Akahi Kosen. Family structure is parents and three children.
Height of children (about 3 months age) is about 30cm. Although they are cute, grew wild and threatened to approach them.
JABEE program of Akashi Kosen has appealed for "symbiosis with nature and society", I am considering to use the raccoon dog problem as useful teaching materials for students.

I saw a white-throated kingfisher in the garden of NPO APCAS Sri Lanka office in Colombo. Yet, I have not seen, but also big lizard is living.
My wife found nine babies of Trachemys scripta, when she had dug sweet-potato with children in the field nearby Terayama irrigation pond. There were also husks of eggs, since there would be born recently.
It breeds with this vigor, we have exterminated in irrigation ponds, unless it continues extermination for a long period of time, an effect will not come out.
Trachemys scripta is specified as invasive alien species worst 100 of Japan by the Ecological Society of Japan. These are cannot released, although these are lovely and guiltless. It is troublesome.
